We strive to keep you informed of what's happening on campus. There are many ways for you to view events. The Default View is with all of your calendars selected.
To view the available calendars, click Select Calendars. Put a check beside the calendars that you want to view and click View Selected Calendars and you will only see the items in the calendars you checked.
To View by Month click on the "<<" or ">>" buttons on the Monthly Calendar.
You can also enter a specific date to see the events for that day.
You still have the option of viewing a printable month and week’s calendar with your selection of calendars on it.
NAEYC Accreditation Panel Visit - Mar. 22 - Mar. 24 On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (March 22-24), the National Association for the Education of Young Child Accreditation Panel will be visiting BHC to determine if the AAS Degree in Child Development is ready to be nationally accredited.
The Self-Study for NAEYC Accreditation was approved, so the next step is the campus visit by the Accreditation Panel for the AAS Degree in CD. There are very few accreditated programs across the U.S.
Justice Kilbride will talk about the rule of law, the importance of civic education, and the role of the courts.
A resident of Rock Island, Justice Kilbride represents the 3rd District, which includes Henry, Mercer, Rock Island and Whiteside counties as well as 17 other counties in northern Illinois.
The March 23 program will be “Forgotten Women of American Song: Elizabeth Cotten, Mary Lou Williams, and Alberta Hunter” -- presentation and performances that focus on artists who had great careers after a hiatus. Led by Paul Cioe, English professor emeritus.
The March 24 program will be “Artemisia Gentileschi: I’ll Show You What a Woman Can Do” – lecture by Melissa Hebert-Johnson, assistant professor of art history, on the life, work and historical memory of a successful Italian Baroque painter.
The March 26 program will be “The Guerrilla Girls and the Contemporary Female Artist” – Discussion of the subversive artist group Guerrilla Girls and other contemporary women artists. Led by Tami Schmidt, adjunct art faculty member.

Fall 2009, spring 2010 and summer 2010 graduates are eligible to participate in the May 20 commencement ceremony. Graduation applications must be filed by Thursday, April 1 to participate in the ceremony.
A Graduation Fair will be Tuesday, March 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. in the lower lobby of Building 1.
Complete your graduation application at the Graduation Fair and order your announcements and/or class rings from Jostens.
The graduation application also can be completed online at www.bhc.edu/graduation or in Enrollment Services in Building 1.
2010 Job Fair - Mar. 31 The Career Services Center at Black Hawk College Quad-Cities, in conjunction with Western Illinois University Quad-Cities Campus, will host our annual Job Fair.
